Welcome
to the web site of the
FREDERICK
STAMP CLUB

Francis Scott Key, the author of our national anthem,
"The Star-Spangled Banner,"
was born in Frederick (now Carroll) County, Maryland.
A 3 cent stamp (Scott 962) was issued in his honor on August 9, 1948 in
Frederick, Md.
The hand painted First Day Cover shown here is the work of
Dorothy Knapp.
She produced some of the most attractive and desirable covers in the 1940's and
1950's.
